Until the Beaver Patrol added many tons of rock to area trails they would flood after every modest rain. Regular hikers in the area were forced to wear rubber boots, rather than walking shoes. Adding rock created much drier trails for most weather conditions.
In 2016-17 we added over 30 tons of rock to trails. Photos below show trails before and after some of that work. Additionally, other photos illustrate unloading rock, transporting it to selected trail locations, and tamping it to make a better trail.
