Beavers do most of their work at night, but they can best be seen shortly before evening or in the first few hours each morning. Before filming the PBS documentary "The Smartest Thing in Fur Pants" the film crew met with the Beaver Patrol. In addition to providing them background facts about beavers, we also:
Told them when, and where, to stand to have the best opportunity to see a beaver.
Suggested that if they stood quietly near the notch we made at the Nemesis site a beaver may come to patch the notch while they were there.
As hoped a beaver came while the documentary was being filmed. It proceeded to patch the notch at Nemesis while their narrator was making his presentation just a couple feet away.
