Common Goldeneye

A large headed duck most common in forest near lakes and streams.  Like Wood Ducks and Barrows Goldeneyes they nest in trees.  All have been known to have laid some eggs in the nests of those others.

Common Goldeneyes diet primarily is composed of small fish and aquatic invertebrates.
